Pursuant § 1 „Principle“ of the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances (GefStoffV), people has to be protected from the contact with hazardous substances of work-related and other health hazards and the environment of substances conditional damnification, especially to make they discernible, to avert and prevent their formation. The identification labels are on one or several points of the packaging to solid install, so that this information can be read horizontally, if the package in the usual way will be stored. For the dimensions of the identification labels to apply following formats: up to 3 liters the format 2.05 inch x 2.91 inch (52 mm x 74 mm) (DIN A8), more than 3 liters to 50 liters the format 2.91 inch x 4.13 inch (74 mm x 105 mm) (DIN A7), more than 50 liters to 500 liters the format 4.13 inch x 5.83 inch (105 mm x 148 mm) (DIN A6), over 500 liters the format 5.83 inch x 8.27 inch (148 mm x 210 mm) (DIN A5). The labeling always must be easy to read because of their warning function; if required it should be cleaned, checked and replaced by a new hazardous substances label. Subsequented hazardous substances labels on the labelling of containers are coated by an additional polyester laminate and thus is resistant to gasoline, diesel and various solvents.
